Bio: I was raised in a 1/2 Catholic home and attended St. Thomas More Parish School. My Catholic roots have been a stronghold for me through life’s joys and many challenges. I struggle with the negative viewpoints and the uneducated reporting from the media that is directed at my faith or any faith for that matter. My blog is an opportunity to provide insight on the imperfections and day to day functions of a faithful follower. Occasionally Christians do a disservice to their church with their "holier than thou" stances and faulty example of being religious. Judgments, gossip and greed sneak in and overwhelm our character. I readily admit I make mistakes - a lot of them, maybe more than most! I am a sinner just like the rest of us and often the greatest images of God are not found in the pews of church. My faith is a gift that I cherish, the followers and leaders have at times made it imperfect but I am accountable to my own actions as are they. You don't have to judge the Catholic Church; it isn't for everyone but we can respect each other exactly where we are in this world. Several years ago I discovered through the words of a prayer that I was overshooting the goal of my existence. I am a Reasonably Happy Catholic mom. I no longer seek abundant, intense happiness. Being Reasonably Happy set me free from comparisons and the disappointments from falling short of whatever it was that I was chasing. This is not a blog to preach or teach scriptures, that's not my mission. Take what you want from it and just live your best life.
